Digitalisation with up to 50% government funding through "go-digital"

Digitalisation is the umbrella term for the digital transformation of society and the economy. It describes the transition from an industrial age shaped by analogue technologies to an age of knowledge and creativity shaped by digital technologies and digital innovation.

If you type the word “Digitalisierung” into Google, you get almost 31 million results. So you can safely call it an absolute megatrend, because both in our personal lives (e.g. learning languages online) and in everyday business (e.g. sharing cars via apps) we have long since arrived in a digitalised world.

This does not only affect large, traditional IT companies; it runs across all industries and sectors. For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and skilled trades in particular, digitalisation is probably one of the biggest challenges of our time, and it has to be mastered to stay competitive in the tough race for customers and sales.

This is exactly where the “go-digital” funding programme comes in. It was launched in 2017 by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) with its three modules “Digitalised business processes”, “Digital market development” and “IT security”. It is aimed specifically at companies that want to optimise their business processes with digital solutions.

Sounds good so far? It gets better. The BMWi covers up to 50% of the costs for consulting and implementation up to a funding limit of 16,500 euros, as we at Web Labels are an authorised consultancy for the “Digital market development” module.

What are the eligibility requirements?

The conditions are clear. The funding is available to companies that

• have no more than 100 employees
• have a previous year’s turnover and balance sheet total below the 20 million euro threshold
• and have a business premises or branch in Germany

How does the process work?

1. First, you tell us about your ideas and wishes so that, after a detailed consultation, we can find the right service package for you. We then calculate the effort based on the consultant days available under the go-digital funding and present our quote to you.
2. We take care of all the paperwork and submit the go-digital funding application for you (this can currently take up to 3 months). That way you can keep focusing on the core tasks in your company instead of dealing with forms and documents.
3. Once the funding has been approved, our experienced team can implement your project within the next 3 to 6 months. And if you are happy with our work, we are glad to support you with further measures in the future. After a project has been completed, go-digital funding can be applied for again for a new project once 12 months have passed.
