Shopware B2B: typical requirements

In B2B trade a standard shop soon reaches its limits. Your customers have individual prices, on top of prices per customer group or product group and tiered prices from certain quantities. One customer pays on account with their own payment terms, another only in advance, and not everyone may use every payment method. Several employees order under one main customer account with their own permissions, and larger orders only go out after budget approval. Some items are only visible to certain customer groups, others are listed with price on request, and perhaps the whole shop should only become visible as a closed shop once an account has been approved. Then there is a quick buy function for ordering by item number, order lists for repeat orders, minimum quantities and packaging units, individual product ranges per customer, quote requests from the basket and terms maintained in the ERP. Sound familiar? This is our day-to-day business.

What a B2B shop with Shopware 6 does for you

  • After logging in, customers see their own prices and terms.
  • Repeat orders are faster, for example via item numbers or order lists.
  • Prices, stock levels and customer data come straight from the ERP.
  • Your sales office takes over orders from the shop instead of typing them in.

A B2B shop with Shopware 6 reflects how your business customers actually order: with their own prices and terms, via item numbers and order lists, and with several contacts per company. We set up these processes in Shopware, add missing functions with our own plugins and connect the shop to the inventory management system that supplies prices and stock levels.

B2B shop with Shopware 6: customer-specific prices, company accounts, quick ordering and ERP integration for retailers and manufacturers selling to businesses.

This is how this page appears in search with its title and description. We write both ourselves for every page.

Prices and terms from a single source

In B2B trade, every larger customer often has their own prices. You keep maintaining these terms in the ERP. Via the ERP integration, price lists, tiers and stock levels reach the shop, and orders go back to the inventory management system. Many of our clients maintain discounts for individual customers on specific product groups with our plugin Customer-Specific Discounts. How we connect the shop, ERP and other systems is described under Integrations & systems.

Data flows automatically in both directions instead of being transferred by hand or in Excel.

When the standard is not enough

Approval workflows, framework agreements or special ordering routes cannot always be handled with built-in features. In that case we develop the missing function as a plugin, see plugin development. If your sales team needs a customer portal alongside the shop, we build it as a web app.

Frequently asked questions about B2B shops with Shopware 6

All questions and answers
Can one shop serve both B2B and B2C customers?

Yes. Shopware 6 separates customer groups and sales channels. Consumers see gross prices and the normal range, while business customers see their terms and, if required, their own range after logging in.

Where do the customer-specific prices come from?

In most projects from the ERP. We transfer price lists, tiers and discounts to the shop via an interface, so you only maintain terms in one place.

Can I run several shops in one system?

Yes. Shopware 6 manages several sales channels in one installation, for example a B2B shop, a B2C shop and shops for other countries or brands. You maintain products, customers and orders centrally and define range, prices, language and design per shop.

Can I control prices per customer group or product group from my ERP?

Yes. We transfer prices and discounts per customer group from the ERP via an interface. For discounts per customer and product group, many of our clients use our plugin Customer-Specific Discounts: it lets you store terms for categories or product groups directly on the customer without maintaining separate price lists.

Do I need a paid Shopware licence?

Not necessarily. Even with more than one million euros in shop revenue, a paid licence is not automatically required. It depends on the use case: for some clients a licence pays off because of the included B2B features, for others the free Community Edition with suitable extensions is enough. We look at this together with you.

My ERP does not supply all product data. Is that a problem?

No. Either we prepare the missing data directly in the shop, or we connect a PIM such as Base or sync4. If it fits better, we develop a dedicated cloud PIM in which your team maintains copy, images and attributes.

How do I connect marketplaces?

There are several routes: directly via Shopware for marketplaces such as eBay, Amazon or Hood, via connectors such as magnalister, Base or Oscware, directly from the ERP or via our own middleware, for example for Fressnapf, Faire, Orderchamp and Ankorstore. The right route depends on your ERP and your marketplaces.
