Where website security in shops and websites usually has gaps
Attacks on websites and shops are mostly automated and target known vulnerabilities in outdated plugins and systems. A successful attack means downtime, effort and possibly a duty to report under the GDPR.
What better website security gives you
- Known security vulnerabilities are closed promptly.
- Backups are kept separate from the web server and can be restored.
- Anomalies in logs and extensions are monitored.
- There is a defined procedure for emergencies.
Scope of services
What we take on for your website security
- Security updates
We keep the system and extensions up to date before known vulnerabilities are exploited.
- Server and SSL
Server hardening, SSL and DDoS protection are part of the basic set-up.
- External backups
Daily backups are stored on a separate server.
- Monitoring
Anomalies such as unknown files or unusual access are reported.
- Access and permissions
Everyone only gets the permissions they need, with two-factor login if required.
- Emergency plan
For emergencies, it is defined who does what and how recovery works.
For us, website security means up-to-date systems, hardened servers and backups you can rely on. This includes updates for security vulnerabilities, SSL, DDoS protection on our Shopware servers, monitoring for anomalies and a plan for what happens in an emergency. We set out binding response times in an SLA.
Prevention instead of clean-up
Most successful attacks exploit vulnerabilities for which an update has long been available. That is why regular maintenance is the most important protection. We grant access on the principle of as little as necessary and secure admin areas with two-factor login.
If something does happen
Daily backups are stored on an external server and can be restored. Monitoring reports unusual activity. How quickly we respond in the event of a fault is agreed in the SLA.
