Measure. Prioritise. Accelerate.

What we take care of

A fast Shopware shop is not the result of a single trick. Server, cache, search, database and frontend interlock, and the slowest point sets the pace. We check every layer and implement the measures ourselves, from the Redis setup to the theme.

  • Redis

Cache, sessions, locks and counters run in memory instead of in files or the database.

Measure, don’t guess

How we measure where your shop loses time

PageSpeed scores show that something is slow. Why it is slow only becomes visible inside the shop. For that we use two tools that complement each other: our own monitoring ShopSignal for day-to-day operation and Tideways for detailed analysis in the code.

Dashboard of ShopSignal, the Shopware monitoring by Web Labels

Own product

ShopSignal: the shop in continuous operation

We developed ShopSignal for Shopware. It monitors availability, server, message queue, errors and revenue and gets in touch before customers notice anything.

  • Health score per shop from security, performance, queue and infrastructure
  • PageSpeed, Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals in the same dashboard as server and revenue
  • Alert when revenue drops after a deploy

Profiling

Tideways: a look into the code

Tideways is a monitoring and profiling tool for PHP applications such as Shopware. It records slow requests and shows in which function, query or extension the time is lost.

  • Profiling of individual requests down to function level
  • Make slow database queries, events and external calls visible
  • Before and after comparison after every optimisation

Search

Fast search with Minofinder

With large catalogues and many variants the standard search quickly becomes a bottleneck. Minofinder, our AI search for Shopware, works with its own index. Search stays fast and still finds what your customers mean.

  • Own search index instead of direct queries to the shop database
  • Understands typos, synonyms and everyday wording
  • Product advisor in the chat, using only items from your catalogue
  • Prices and customer groups come straight from Shopware

PageSpeed & Core Web Vitals

More speed on smartphone and desktop

A green test score alone does not sell anything. We improve the real loading time, the response to input and the stability of the layout, where system, theme, plugins, media and server work together.

  • LCPvisible main content
  • INPfast interaction
  • CLSstable layout
More about PageSpeed optimisation
  • Images & media

Suitable sizes, compression, WebP and AVIF, lazy loading and a main image that loads first.

  • Theme & front end

Slim down CSS, JavaScript, fonts and page structure in a targeted way.

  • Plugins & system

Check slow extensions, requests and custom logic under real operating conditions.

  • Cache & infrastructure

Tune caches, PHP, OPcache, web server and database to work together.

High performance without server overkill

Optimise the stack first, then talk about more hardware

Many shops and websites do not need the next expensive server straight away. The biggest reserves often lie in configuration, caching, database, theme and plugins.

  • PHP and OPcache configuration
  • Database, search index and background processes
  • Monitoring for errors, load peaks and response times
  • Web server, cache and CDN strategy
  • Profiling of plugins and theme under real load

Our goal: the best possible performance on an infrastructure that makes economic sense for you.

Hosting & high performance

How we work

From measurement to a faster shop

  1. Measure

Lab and field data, ShopSignal values and Tideways traces for the most important page types.

  2. Prioritise

Sort bottlenecks by impact, effort and risk.

  3. Implement

Adjust cache, search, database, code and frontend, on staging first.

  4. Safeguard

Keep monitoring the values after launch so the shop stays fast.

Why Web Labels

Performance consulting with direct access to the workbench

With us, nobody writes a report and passes it on. The people who measure the shop also change the configuration, the code and the server. So a recommendation does not end up in a drawer but in the next deployment.

With Shopware performance optimisation we make your Shopware 6 shop faster: on the server, in the cache, in search, in the database and in the frontend. The basis is measurements with ShopSignal and Tideways, from which we derive an order of priority by impact. The goal is fast category and product pages and a smooth checkout. The PageSpeed score is a diagnostic tool, not an end in itself.

Why Shopware slows down differently from a website

A Shopware shop calculates on every request: prices per customer group, availability, variants, rules from the Rule Builder. Without a working cache, every one of these calculations ends up in the database. That is why we look first at the layers behind the frontend: whether Redis is set up, whether search and listings run via Elasticsearch or OpenSearch and which database queries take too long.

Looking at frontend and server together

Large product images, theme customisations, apps and external widgets can block the browser as well. For shops and websites outside Shopware there is our general PageSpeed optimisation. If the cause lies with the hosting, our Shopware hosting can help.

Frequently asked questions about Shopware performance

All questions and answers
Do we need a more expensive server to get more speed?

Not automatically. First we check what reserves there are in cache, database, search and code. Only then can you sensibly decide whether additional hardware is needed.

Is Redis worthwhile for smaller shops too?

Often yes, because cache and sessions then no longer sit on the hard disk or in the database. How much it helps depends on load and hosting. We measure this before and after.

When does Shopware need Elasticsearch or OpenSearch?

At the latest with large catalogues, many variants or filters, search via the database becomes slow. A dedicated search index then takes over search and listings and relieves the database.

How do you find slow plugins?

With profiling in live operation, for example via Tideways. There we can see which function, which subscriber or which query costs the time in a request.

What does the Media Booster improve?

The Media Booster compresses and scales images, generates WebP and AVIF versions depending on server support and can process existing media in bulk. The original files are kept.

Why do PageSpeed scores vary between two measurements?

Lab values depend on server load, network and third parties. That is why we compare several measurements and page types and, where available, field data from real visitors.
