When a variant selection is not enough and a product configurator helps

For products with many options, a normal variant selection is not enough. Customers then ask for prices by email, sales calculates by hand, and unsuitable combinations are only noticed in production.

What your own product configurator gives you

  • Customers only see combinations that are technically possible.
  • The price is calculated immediately according to your rules.
  • The finished configuration arrives as an order in the shop or as an enquiry with you.
  • You maintain options, rules and prices in an admin area instead of in the code.

Scope of services

What we take on in configurator development

  • Options and rules

    We map variants, dependencies and pricing logic together with you.

  • For every device

    The interface works on desktop and on smartphones.

  • Price calculation

    Prices follow your rules and are transparent for your customers.

  • Basket or enquiry

    The configuration lands in the Shopware basket or reaches you as an enquiry.

  • Your own admin area

    Your team maintains options, rules and prices itself.

  • Connection

    If you wish, the configuration goes directly to ERP or production.

In configurator development we build product configurators for online shops and websites. Your customers put together dimensions, material, colour or accessories themselves, see the price and add the result to the basket or send an enquiry. We store the rules about which options go together in such a way that your team can maintain them later.

Tech stack

  1. ApplicationShopware, Laravel or WordPress with theme and plugins
  2. Cache and searchRedis and Elasticsearch configured to fit
  3. PHPcurrent version with OPcache
  4. Serverour own servers with NVMe storage
We look at every layer, not just the theme: from the application through cache and search to the server.

Rules instead of follow-up questions

At its core, a configurator is a set of rules: this width only works with that material, this accessory costs different amounts depending on the size. We record these rules with you before a single line of code is written. This determines whether the configurator runs as a plugin in Shopware or as a separate application built with Laravel.

class SyncStock implements ShouldQueue
{
    public function handle(Erp $erp, Shop $shop): void
    {
        foreach ($erp->changedProducts() as $product) {
            $shop->setStock($product->number, $product->stock);
        }
    }
}
Our own code, cleanly documented and update-safe.

From configurator to order

In the shop, the configuration becomes an order line with all selected options. Without a shop, it goes to your sales team as a structured enquiry or via an interface directly to ERP or production.

How we work

How your product configurator is built

  1. Understand

    We look at your business, your systems and your figures before we suggest anything.

  2. Plan

    You receive a concept and a quote with individual items and a realistic schedule.

  3. Build

    We develop in stages. You see interim results on a test environment and approve them.

  4. Run

    After go-live we take care of hosting, updates and monitoring if you want us to.
