Why Shopware projects need good planning

The most expensive mistakes in a shop project happen before the first line of code. Where do products, prices and stock levels come from? Which processes does the shop need to support, what can Shopware 6 do out of the box and where do you need development or an integration? In Shopware consulting we answer these questions with a data flow analysis and solid project planning, so you can make the right decisions and your budget stays predictable.

What Shopware consulting gives you

  • Before you start, you know which data flows between ERP, PIM, shop and marketplaces.
  • Standard, plugin or custom development: decisions are made on a clear basis.
  • Your project plan and quote are based on real requirements rather than assumptions.
  • Concept and implementation can come from one team if you wish.

Scope of services

What our Shopware consulting covers

  • Workshop

    Capture goals, product range and processes together.

  • Data flow analysis

    Which data goes where: ERP, PIM, shop, marketplaces.

  • Development

    What Shopware does out of the box and where a plugin is needed.

  • Integrations

    Which connection fits and how the data stays in sync.

  • Concept

    Plan page structure, features and user journeys.

  • Project plan

    Milestones and a budget framework for a safe implementation.

In Shopware consulting we plan your shop project before any development starts: processes, data flows, features and the question of what Shopware 6 covers as standard and where development or integrations are needed. The result is a concept that lets you decide with confidence.

Data flow analysis as the foundation

Everything starts with the data flow analysis. We clarify where products, prices and stock levels come from, how orders get back into the ERP and which systems are involved. From this we can tell which ERP integration or PIM integration you need.

Tech stack

  1. ApplicationShopware, Laravel or WordPress with theme and plugins
  2. Cache and searchRedis and Elasticsearch configured to fit
  3. PHPcurrent version with OPcache
  4. Serverour own servers with NVMe storage
We look at every layer, not just the theme: from the application through cache and search to the server.

Planning development and integrations properly

Not every requirement needs custom development. Together we check what Shopware covers out of the box, where an existing plugin is enough and where plugin development is worthwhile. The result is a plan that fits your budget.

public static function getSubscribedEvents(): array
{
    return [
        ProductPageLoadedEvent::class => 'onProductPage',
    ];
}

public function onProductPage(ProductPageLoadedEvent $event): void
{ /* add data without touching the core */ }
We build extensions as separate Shopware plugins so the shop stays update-safe.

Finding the solution together

For us, consulting does not mean handing over a document. We work out the solution with you and, if you wish, implement it directly, for example as part of Shopware 6 development. Small and medium-sized companies may be eligible for funding for the consulting. The conditions are explained on our page on BAFA consulting funding.

How Shopware consulting works

  1. Conversation and goals

    We clarify where you stand, what you want to achieve and which decisions lie ahead.

  2. Analysis

    We map processes and data flows and check what standard Shopware covers.

  3. Concept and plan

    You receive a concept with recommendations on development, integrations and project plan.

  4. Decision and implementation

    You decide on a clear basis. If you wish, we implement the solution directly with you.

Frequently asked questions about Shopware consulting

All questions and answers
What does Shopware consulting cost?

That depends on the scope: a single workshop, an analysis with a concept or ongoing support. After the first conversation you receive a quote with a clearly defined scope.

What is a data flow analysis?

We map which data flows between ERP, PIM, Shopware, marketplaces and other systems: products, prices, stock levels, orders and customers. This shows early on which integrations are needed and where processes can be simplified.

Do I have to implement the project with you afterwards?

No. The concept and project plan belong to you. Many clients go on to implement with us, because planning and development then come from one team.
