Why new Shopware shops fail

A new shop rarely fails because of Shopware. It fails because of questions asked too late: where do products, prices and stock levels come from? Are the variants structured in the ERP the same way as in the shop? Which processes does the shop need to support, and how much of that can Shopware 6 do out of the box? If these questions only come up during implementation, things get more expensive and the launch slips. That is why we start every project with project planning and a data flow analysis. This keeps our quote reliable, and there are no nasty surprises on costs later.

What Shopware development with us gives you

  • Your quote is based on project planning and data flow analysis, which keeps it reliable.
  • Before you start, you know what Shopware 6 offers and where an extension is needed.
  • Design and theme match your brand and keep working after Shopware updates.
  • Products, prices and stock levels come from your existing systems rather than spreadsheets.
  • After onboarding, your team maintains content and shopping experiences itself.

Project plan

The milestones of your Shopware 6 build

These are the milestones you can usually expect when we build your Shopware 6 shop.

  1. Milestone 1

    Data flow analysis

    We map your processes and define which data goes where: between ERP, PIM, Shopware, marketplaces and other systems.

  2. Milestone 2

    Concept and wireframes

    In a joint workshop we plan the page structure and review the feature set once more.

  3. Milestone 3

    Configuration

    We set up your shop completely and prepare the connectors. You can get involved very early and follow the project.

  4. Milestone 3.1

    Integrations and PIM

    We connect ERP, PIM and other systems so that products, prices and stock levels flow into the shop automatically.

  5. Milestone 4

    Design

    Once the concept has been signed off, we design all templates cleanly in the layout.

  6. Milestone 5

    Implementation and templates

    We implement the design in your own Shopware theme and test every function from the data flow analysis and wireframes.

  7. Milestone 5.1

    Plugin development

    Where Shopware 6 and the Shopware Store are not enough, we develop custom plugins for your processes.

  8. Milestone 6

    Demo status and launch

    The project is finalised, extended with further milestones if you wish and launched after a joint decision, including a 301 concept and SEO check.

What happens once your Shopware 6 shop has been developed?

Launch completes the Shopware 6 development, but the growth of your shop is only just beginning. Now it is about attracting more visitors and opening up new sales channels. That is why we continue to support many clients with further expansion after going live. Typical steps are:

  • SEO, GEO and AEO: Shopware SEO moves your shop up on Google. With GEO and AEO it is also mentioned in AI search tools such as ChatGPT.
  • Google Ads: Campaigns in Search and Shopping bring visitors who are ready to buy straight to your products.
  • Meta Ads: With ads on Facebook and Instagram you reach new target groups.
  • Marketplace connections: Via multichannel you also sell your items on Amazon, eBay, Kaufland or OTTO.
  • Internationalisation: We set up further languages, countries and currencies directly in Shopware 6.

Which steps are worthwhile depends on your product range, target group and budget. We plan them together with you and implement them one after another.

After go-live

  1. SEO, GEO and AEObeing found in Google and AI search
  2. Google AdsSearch, Shopping and Performance Max
  3. Meta Adscampaigns on Facebook and Instagram
  4. Marketplacesconnecting Amazon, eBay, Kaufland or OTTO
  5. Internationalisationnew languages, countries and currencies
Typical next steps we use to keep developing shops after launch.

Shopware development starts with the data

Most problems in shop projects arise at the interfaces: item numbers do not match, prices come from two sources, variants are structured differently in the ERP than in the shop. We clarify these questions in the concept phase. This determines which integrations are needed and which extensions are worthwhile.

public static function getSubscribedEvents(): array
{
    return [
        ProductPageLoadedEvent::class => 'onProductPage',
    ];
}

public function onProductPage(ProductPageLoadedEvent $event): void
{ /* add data without touching the core */ }
We build extensions as separate Shopware plugins so the shop stays update-safe.

Custom Shopware plugins where your shop needs them

We have been developing extensions for Shopware for years and publish some of them in the Shopware Store. What to bear in mind with plugin development is described on a separate page. If your shop is coming from another system, the project starts with the data transfer, see migration & relaunch.

Shopware 6 development and shop builds | Web Labels

Shopware 6 development by Web Labels: concept, data flow analysis, design, theme, plugins and integrations for your new online shop from a single source.

This is how this page appears in search with its title and description. We write both ourselves for every page.

Integrations and connectors

We also build connectors

If there is no ready-made integration for a platform, we develop it ourselves. For Fressnapf, Faire, Orderchamp and Ankorstore we have built our own middleware that connects Shopware 6 fully with each marketplace.

  • Shopware 6 and Fressnapf

    The Fressnapf marketplace for pet supplies, with product push, price and stock synchronisation, order import and shipping status.

    To the Fressnapf integration
  • Shopware 6 and Faire

    Wholesale marketplace for independent retailers: your range comes from Shopware, and the retailers’ orders flow back into the shop.

    To the Faire integration
  • Shopware 6 and Orderchamp

    B2B marketplace for brands and specialist retailers, continuously synchronised with your Shopware data.

    To the Orderchamp integration
  • Shopware 6 and Ankorstore

    European wholesale marketplace for brands and retailers, fully connected to Shopware 6.

    To the Ankorstore integration

What the middleware covers:

  • Product push with product data, variants and images
  • Price synchronisation
  • Stock synchronisation
  • Order import
  • Shipping status and tracking feedback

After go-live

Monitoring with ShopSignal

A shop is not finished at go-live. Updates, new plugins and growing traffic change it all the time. With ShopSignal, our own monitoring for Shopware, we keep an eye on availability, loading time and key processes and get in touch before your customers notice anything.

  • Availability and response times around the clock
  • Checkout, search and basket under watch
  • Alerts before small errors cost revenue

Online marketing and SEO from the same team

Frequently asked questions about Shopware 6 development

All questions and answers
How much does an online shop with Shopware 6 cost?

That depends mainly on how many systems are connected, how bespoke the design should be and which functions go beyond the standard. After gathering requirements, you receive a quote with a clearly defined scope.

Do I need custom plugins for my shop?

Not necessarily. Shopware 6 covers a lot as standard, and there are plugins in the Shopware Store for common tasks. We only develop custom extensions where your process does not fit a ready-made solution.

Can my team maintain the shop itself later on?

Yes. You maintain products, categories, shopping experiences and content in the Shopware admin. Before launch we show your team the processes it needs day to day.
