Why postponed updates make Shopware maintenance expensive

Shopware releases new versions regularly. Anyone who postpones updates accumulates dependencies between Shopware, plugins and custom code until an update becomes a project in its own right. Errors after an update are often only noticed when orders stop coming in.

What regular Shopware maintenance gives you

  • Shopware and plugins stay up to date without updates turning into projects.
  • Theme and custom extensions are checked with every update.
  • Errors after an update are detected early.
  • Expiring PHP and Shopware versions are planned for in good time.

Scope of services

What we take on in Shopware maintenance

  • Updates on staging

We first test Shopware and plugin updates in a copy of your shop.

  • Theme, plugins, interfaces

We check custom extensions and integrations after every update.

  • Live with backup

A backup is made before rolling out to the live shop.

  • Monitoring afterwards

We review error logs, the message queue and orders after the update.

  • Plan version changes

We change PHP and Shopware versions as planned rather than under time pressure.

  • Minor adjustments

Smaller changes and bug fixes are covered by an allowance of hours.

With Shopware maintenance, we keep your Shopware 6 shop up to date and stable. We install Shopware and plugin updates in a staging environment first, check the theme and extensions, roll the changes out to the live shop and then monitor error logs, the message queue and orders. We plan for expiring PHP and Shopware versions in good time.

  • Last night’s backupOK
Monitoring checks around the clock whether shop and website are running and alerts us before your customers notice anything.

Updates without surprises

New Shopware versions sometimes change interfaces that plugins and themes rely on. We read the changes in advance, test your shop with the new version and adapt custom plugins before the update goes live. We summarise what is new in the current versions in our knowledge section.

Tech stack

  1. ApplicationShopware, Laravel or WordPress with theme and plugins
  2. Cache and searchRedis and Elasticsearch configured to fit
  3. PHPcurrent version with OPcache
  4. Serverour own servers with NVMe storage
We look at every layer, not just the theme: from the application through cache and search to the server.

Monitoring after the update

After every update we look at error logs, queues and incoming orders. For this we use our own monitoring tool ShopSignal, which also reports revenue drops on the same day. If we also run the server, Shopware hosting is part of the same contract.

How we work

How Shopware maintenance works with us

  1. Understand

We look at your business, your systems and your figures before we suggest anything.

  2. Plan

You receive a concept and a quote with individual items and a realistic schedule.

  3. Build

We develop in stages. You see interim results on a test environment and approve them.

  4. Run

After go-live we take care of hosting, updates and monitoring if you want us to.
