In this short article we want to draw your attention to the topic of PageSpeed once more. On Google’s developer website (Google PageSpeed) at https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights you can have your website analysed within a few seconds.
What does Google PageSpeed tell you?
Once your website has been scanned, Google gives you a score for the desktop and mobile views and a kind of to-do list that you should work through as far as possible.
With some systems, a score above 70 is hard to achieve because of their architecture.

Using the Google PageSpeed files
To get rid of at least the biggest performance bottlenecks, download the zip file at the end of the report, which contains the images re-optimised by Google.

You can then replace the files via FTP. CSS and JavaScript files are provided here as well. In our view, some of the files are just fine-tuning, while others can make a considerable difference to your website’s loading time.
Simply try to score as well as possible without the effort getting out of proportion 😉
We did not overdo it either. What matters is that the pages display cleanly everywhere and do not load unnecessarily large files!
Our current score is 63 on mobile and 83 on desktop. According to Google that is not sufficient, but it is perfectly acceptable and does not have a negative effect on rankings.
