Google Merchant Center: “The account is not eligible for enhanced free listings.”
When this message appears, we have a problem. It means none of your free Shopping listings are shown any more, which can lead to a drop in sales!
Unfortunately, this error has been occurring more often recently. We ourselves had to contact Google about it in the past few days.
The feedback quickly brought disillusionment: Google support itself doesn’t have much information on this, as it apparently seems to be a problem in the system.
Fixing Google Merchant Center / free Shopping listings
To resolve it, you are supposed to follow Google’s three-step guide. You can find the guide here.
Google also says that if the guide doesn’t help, you unfortunately have to wait about a week and hope that the error resolves itself.
If the error persists, you need to report the incident to Google again and have it escalated so that it goes to the next level of support.
