Plugins
Plugins used
For Wolters Cat & Dog we used these Shopware plugins of our own, among others.
-
Closed shop and showcase mode Open your shop only to approved customers: completely behind a login page or as a showcase where prices and buying only appear after logging in.
-
Cross-selling by product tags Store recommendations once on a tag, and every product with that tag automatically shows them on its detail page.
-
Flyout navigation and mega menu Replace the standard menu with a multi-level flyout in which customers quickly find the right category, even in deep category trees.
-
Contact form upload field Customers attach photos, drawings or documents directly to the contact form, by drag and drop and several at once if you wish.
-
Media Booster Automatically shrinks the images in your shop, converts them to WebP and AVIF and gives them alt texts and descriptive file names.
-
Rich Snippets and AI Visibility Gives Google and AI search structured data on products, categories and your company, plus an FAQ element and an llms.txt.
-
Advertising Banner in Listing Show advertising banners directly between the products in the category listing, scheduled and per category.
-
Product Add-ons Sell warranty extensions, assembly or old appliance removal as add-ons directly on the product, and even later in the cart.
Background
Wolters develops accessories for dogs and cats: harnesses, leads, dog clothing for every kind of weather, and food. The products are sold through the company's own online shop, its own store and specialist retailers.
A brand shop therefore has two jobs. It should sell in its own right and at the same time support the retailers who stock the brand in their stores.
The shop was already running on Shopware 6, but Wolters was not satisfied with the previous implementation. We took over the project and realigned both its concept and its design.
The task
The goal was a presence that shows the brand with large images and is still a fully fledged shop. Anyone who prefers to buy in a store should quickly find a retailer nearby.
Our solution
We merged the brand presence and the shop on Shopware 6. The home page works with large-format photos, and the navigation leads to the products via product world, dog clothing, dog food and "Shop the Look". With "Shop the Look", customers see an outfit in a picture and add the matching items straight to the basket.
The company's own store and the dealer locator sit at the very top of every page. This keeps bricks-and-mortar retail visible, even when someone browses online first.
It all started with a data flow analysis between the ERP system, Pickware and the in-house systems. From this, we developed a process and interface concept together and worked out the wireframes in an on-site workshop. The screen design was created together with the Wolters graphic design department.
For dog clothing there is a made-to-measure size advisor. Customers create a profile for their dog in their customer account, and the shop recommends the right variant for jackets and winter coats. The AI search Minofinder helps customers find products and gives product advice. We built a custom integration for Fressnapf.
Result
Wolters presents its brand, range and retailer network in one Shopware 6 shop. Customers decide for themselves whether to order online or buy from a retailer near them. Shortly after the launch of Minofinder, a measurable increase in conversion was already visible. We continuously look after hosting, PageSpeed, tracking with GA4 and server-side tracking as well as the shopping feeds.
