Welzhofer: Shopware network with several brands and sub-shops
We have been supporting Welzhofer for many years. What started as a shop for wild bird food has grown into a Shopware network with several brands, including Fellows and the Mühlenshop.
The project
The project in detail
We have been supporting Welzhofer for many years. What started as a shop for wild bird food has grown into a Shopware network with several brands, including Fellows and the Mühlenshop.
17+ plugins in use
What makes it special: A scalable Shopware ecosystem that connects several brands and shops with different requirements.
A special technical feature of the Welzhofer website is its well-organised product selection, supported by an intuitive filter function. We also built a product advisor and the option to post reviews with image uploads on the product detail page, so new user content is created on the fly.
- Fellows shop-in-shop
- 3 sub-shops
- ERP integration
- Plugin development
Plugins
Plugins used
For Welzhofer we used these Shopware plugins of our own, among others.
-
Scheduled Shopping Experiences per Customer Group Your home page switches automatically by date, time, weekday or customer group, for example right on time for the start of a promotion.
-
Premium Product and Category Slider Design product and category sliders in your shopping experiences with your own colours, images and a teaser area for promotions.
-
Intelligent product advisor Guide customers to the right product with just a few questions. The answers are weighted, so close matches also appear in a sensible order.
-
Bundle Plugin with Automatic Bundle Creation Create bundles for entire product groups at once. Customers choose accessories from groups, and you decide what the discount applies to.
-
Vouchers on the product detail page Your product pages automatically show the best valid voucher code that applies to the product, so customers do not have to go looking for it.
Description
Welzhofer, the home of wild birds, stands for wild bird food and pet food. We have been looking after the Shopware shop for many years: from concept, design and templates to our own plugins and support with the ERP integration.
Over time, further brands were added. Today, the homepage section „Vier Welten, ein Zuhause“ (four worlds, one home) leads to Welzhofer, Fellows, KittyLux and Donath. We built the Fellows shop in 2023, with a completely different set of requirements from the wild bird shop. Fellows runs as a shop-in-shop directly within the Welzhofer shop, with its own homepage, its own design, its own categories such as dry dog food and its own product pages.
We developed dedicated plugins for Fellows: a feed advisor, a feed quiz and a dealer locator with category and service filters. In the Welzhofer range, a product advisor, customised filters and product reviews with image uploads help customers choose.
Scope of work
- Long-term support and ongoing development
- Shop concept, design and template development
- Custom plugin development
- Support with the ERP integration
- Integration of further brands and shop areas, including Fellows and the Mühlenshop
- Expansion into a shop-in-shop and multi-shop architecture
- Product advisor, customised filters and product reviews with image uploads
Technical details
All brands run in a shared Shopware 6 ecosystem. Our plugins are built to be multi-shop capable, so functions such as the product advisor, bundles, scheduled shopping experiences and automatic voucher notices can be used across several shops. We supported the ERP integration.
For the Fellows sub-shop, we also built a feed advisor, a feed quiz and a dealer locator with category and service filters, all integrated into the existing Welzhofer system.
