Background

Folienshop.de belongs to Norbert Wittstock GmbH from Hamburg, a wholesaler for sign-making supplies. The range includes plotter and screen printing films, car wrapping films, laminates, films for digital printing, inks and the matching tools. We planned the first online shop together in 2020. It started with a one-day workshop, from which the project plan and concept emerged. At the time, the B2B shop was built on Shopware 5 Professional, with filters by colour and material and cutting details directly on the product.

The task

Shopware 5 is no longer maintained. The shop had to move to Shopware 6, and the move was to be used for a new design at the same time. Customers from sign making and vehicle wrapping still needed to find their way around straight away.

Our solution

For the relaunch we rebuilt and redesigned Folienshop.de on Shopware 6. The main navigation follows the customers' applications: sign making, digital printing, laminates, car wrapping, architecture, reflective film, screen printing, accessories and ink. Business customers find the B2B login directly in the top bar. Large photos from vehicle wrapping show what the material is meant for. Films are often ordered to size. For this we developed a custom cutting plugin that takes roll widths, lengths and die-cutting specifications into account. End customers and B2B customers can order films cut to size directly in the shop. The product data comes via the Base interface (formerly BaseLinker), which serves as the PIM. We developed the connector in direct cooperation with the software provider. On top of that come several grid switches for product display and the AI search Minofinder.

Implementation

As with the first shop, the starting point was a joint workshop. Only then were the design and template created, so that the range and the user experience match the workflows of a wholesale business.

Result

Folienshop.de runs on Shopware 6 with a new design. The shop is aimed at business customers from sign making and vehicle wrapping and organises the range by their applications.
