Change of the system landscape with the ERP moving to VARIO 8 and the shop system to Shopware 6. We carried out a comprehensive data flow analysis and took on project management as well as the planning and implementation of the screen designs. We also developed the templates and built the shop to be multilingual and country-specific with individual product portfolios (AT, CH, DE, NL). Another highlight was the development of a dedicated subscription extension, which we extended together with the client for Shopware and Mollie. In addition, the entire core was optimised for SEO beyond Shopware standards. We also created a new plugin that lets customers switch shop systems in the checkout. For example, an order originally started in Germany can be completed in Austria without the customer having to re-enter their details or basket.

Plugins

Plugins used

For Schecker we used these Shopware plugins of our own, among others.

  • Shopware 6 plugin Bundle Plugin with Automatic Bundle Creation by Web Labels: feature view Bundle Plugin with Automatic Bundle Creation Create bundles for entire product groups at once. Customers choose accessories from groups, and you decide what the discount applies to.
  • Shopware 6 plugin Intelligent product advisor by Web Labels: feature view Intelligent product advisor Guide customers to the right product with just a few questions. The answers are weighted, so close matches also appear in a sensible order.
  • Shopware 6 plugin Top Filters per Category by Web Labels: feature view Top Filters per Category Show the most important filters first in each category. Anyone who wants to filter further expands the rest with one click.
  • Shopware 6 plugin Vouchers on the product detail page by Web Labels: feature view Vouchers on the product detail page Your product pages automatically show the best valid voucher code that applies to the product, so customers do not have to go looking for it.
  • Shopware 6 plugin Intelligent cross-selling by Web Labels: feature view Intelligent cross-selling Let Shopware find similar products itself: you weight the important properties, and the plugin creates matching recommendations from them.
  • Shopware 6 plugin Reference text field per line item by Web Labels: feature view Reference text field per line item Business customers add their own reference text to each product, for example for a project, branch or cost centre. Tiered prices still apply to the total quantity.
  • Shopware 6 plugin Premium Product and Category Slider by Web Labels: feature view Premium Product and Category Slider Design product and category sliders in your shopping experiences with your own colours, images and a teaser area for promotions.

Background

Schecker is a specialist mail-order company for dog supplies. The range includes dog food, treats, care products, accessories, toys and clothing. Schecker also offers nutrition advice and an order hotline. Alongside the core range there are ongoing seasonal promotions, Schecker's own product boxes and collections. The shop has to show both: what regular customers buy again and again, and what is new right now.

The task

Customers needed to find their food or accessories quickly via categories. At the same time, the home page needed room for changing themes and promotions.

Our solution

The shop runs on Shopware. The main navigation is organised by product group, from dog food to clothing, each with subcategories. The home page features a large slider for the current promotion and tiles for seasonal products, offers, Schecker boxes and collections. Below that, a "shop by category" section leads back into the range. Nutrition advice and the order hotline sit in the top bar, so questions about food do not have to go through the contact form first.

Result

At Schecker, promotions and themed worlds are on the home page, the core range remains accessible via the categories, and anyone with questions about nutrition finds the advice service on every page.
